Fudge will get soft in warm temperatures but will not start to melt until it reaches the temperature of 128 degrees.

Once you receive your fudge, it’s best to store it at room temperature in the special cellulose sleeve it came in. It retains its freshness for about 10-14 days. Wrapping it air tight and placing it in the freezer prolongs its shelf life by about six months.

Please don’t refrigerate fudge!

In a word, no. The “Original Murdick’s Fudge” store (sold out of the family in 1969) on Mackinac Island uses our family name, but they are not affiliated with our family, nor do they create the same mouthwatering confection that we are known for.

My brother John, and his son, Aaron, are the only Murdick’s in the entire Straights of Mackinaw, using the original formula and quality ingredients.

There are still a few Murdick family–owned fudge stores in operation, including:

• Murdick’s Famous Fudge on Central Avenue in Mackinaw City, owned and operated by my brother John and his son Aaron Murdick — fifth and sixth generation.

• Celeste Murdick’s Fudge and Candy Kitchen on Bridge Street in Charlevoix, owned and operated by my sister Celeste and her daughter Nikki — fifth and sixth generation.

• Doug Murdick’s Fudge in Traverse City, owned and operated by Doug’s daughter, Debbie — fourth generation.

To ensure optimal freshness, all orders ship Monday through Wednesday unless otherwise specified.

All chocolates, turtles, bark, Truffles, etc., are available for shipping October through April. Fudge ships year-round and never melts.

Shipping fees include all handling and packaging costs. Shipping fees are not refundable.

We use UPS for all of our shipments.

Yes, Sweets tables and wedding favors are two of Karen Ann’s specialties. Having owned a small catering company, Karen Ann is well versed with creating memorable gatherings that have included a SweetTable for 600!
